Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan’s latest film, ‘Chandu Champion,’ directed by Kabir Khan, tells the inspiring story of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympics gold medalist. To accurately portray this role, Kartik committed to 18 months of intense fitness training and a strict diet, achieving an impressive transformation. He continues to maintain 90% of this rigorous routine.

Kartik shared how this role preparation has become a permanent part of his life. “I’m not going to change it… It’s a part of my lifestyle now. It has helped me in a lot of ways, and I’m enjoying it now. I still do a lot of boxing and have swimming sessions. My entire day is filled with talks about what food I’m having or not having or the calorie intake. I need to burn these many calories in a day. I never used to see my physique like that. Not just the physicality bit but also it gives you a lot of mental peace. I’m feeling more positive, more energetic, and more and more healthy. That’s all thanks to the one and a half years of rigorous training and getting into this zone. I’m still following it to the T,” he said.

The Training Process
Over 1.5 years, Kartik reduced his body fat from 39% to 7%. His daily routine included a morning gym session after eight hours of sleep, followed by breakfast and boxing sessions. He also monitored his sleep to ensure optimal results.
A key part of his training was weighted pushups, which added extra intensity to his workouts. Fitness experts suggest these pushups enhance muscle growth, core stability, and overall strength. They recommend doing such exercises with a trainer to avoid injuries and maximize benefits.
Kartik’s dedication to his fitness regimen for ‘Chandu Champion’ not only transformed his body but also boosted his mental well-being, making him feel more positive and energetic.
